The Internet Cooking Show planned for spring semester out of Botswin is moving forward. Mary Spillman's class did a test run last week. Contact Dr. Willey if you want to be the music director, DJ, composer, arranger, or a performer.
Student Organization Constitution
The new student organization for a record label is discussing the proposed constitution tonight in MU 117 at 6:30 p.m. Thanks to Ryan Brinkworth (President), Jay Finley (Vice President), Lauren Springgay (Secretary), and Ryan Fine (Treasurer) for offering to serve as officers.
Joshua Kattner is looking for string players and an oboist, conductor, engineers, orchestrator, and copyist for the recording of his 28-minute score for a student film entitled Ash [ excerpt ] . It's a large-scale project underway under Rick Swingley and Sonny Wingler's supervision in the TCOM department which they will be shopping it to SONY and festivals. Joshua was an MMP student before transferring to TCOM and is an being paid as a film composer. If you're interested in the field he would be a great person to get to know.
Need money? February 10th is the deadline to submit applications for ASPIRE grants:
Research: February 10 (Summer and Fall projects)
Supports the discovery of new insights, theories, or application of research to solve problems within the discipline or in society.
Creative Arts: February 10 (Summer and Fall projects)
Supports the creation of original works of creative arts.
Student Travel Grants:
Submit by the 15th of the month prior to travel date. For professional presentations of papers and/or posters, performances, etc., at meetings, conference or competitions.

Learn to Make Videos...and Compose
There's still time to sign up for Producing Educational Videos (MUSC 299X-2) being taught by Dr. Willey next semester on Mondays/Fridays from 12:00–12:50 and other times TBA. This will be an opportunity to learn to light a subject, record audio and video, edit, and sync them to make videos for Conn-Selmer's website and your own projects.
Interested in creating short instrumental and vocal compositions? Sign up for Dr. Swilley's MUST 221 composition seminar. The only prereqs are MUST 101 and 111, or permission of the instructor.
