Computer Game Class Needs Audio Specialists

Computer Science professor Paul Gestwicki is recruiting students for an immersive learning Game Studio course for Spring 2017. They will be designing games around themes of environmental sustainability and would benefit from some team members with experience in that area in addition to the usual need for programmers, artists, writers, audio specialists, and general researchers.

Sound Designer and Alumnus Daniel Clark Visits MMP

Daniel Clark (class of 2006) was back on campus last week. After receiving his MET degree (the original name for the MMP major) and a masters from Syracuse University Daniel worked at Notre Dame and then relocated to Los Angeles, where he does sound design and directs commercials, short films, documentaries, and web series. He was just out in South Bend for a film he had mixed sound for that is playing at the Chicago Film Festival and then at Notre Dame called "Catholics vs. Convicts", a feature film as part of the ESPN "30 for 30" programming.

Daniel brought up the idea of collaborating with the Architecture department to consider creating quiet or silent spaces in noisy urban environments, inspired by a film one of his friends made called "In Pursuit of Silence." Since returning home he has been in touch for recommendations for students who might be able to help with a couple of projects.
