Society of Composers, Inc.

The Theory/Composition department will be hosting the Student National Conference for the Society of Composers, Inc. from November 17–19. Conference hosts Carter Rice and Chad Powers hope that you will attend one or more of the seven concerts and paper sessions to hear some interesting music and ideas, and be good hosts as you encounter the 50 visiting composers from across the country in the Music Instruction Building. This will be an excellent opportunity to increase your listening and communication skills.

Musicians and Engineer needed for BSU Commercial

Joshua Kattner has scored music for Ball State's next TV commercial and we're looking for one or more engineers and the following musicians for a 2-hour session to record 30 minutes of music.

Piano
Electric/Acoustic Guitar
Electric/Acoustic Bass Guitar
Acoustic Drums (Kit) 
Marimba
Brass Section (1 lead trumpet & brass section) 
Saxophone

Got Talent?

MOXY invites current Ball State students to enter the U Got It? talent contest. Finalists will be recorded on December 12 an 13th in Pruis for the pilot of a TV show. The winner will get a $10,000 scholarship. Enter online or contact Dr. Thompson if you're interested in volunteering to help with the taping. The show is masterminded by Colts punter Pat McAfee is a comedian in the off season and performed on campus last February.
