Webinars and Lectures

Christoph Thompson organized a series of webinars for the recording techniques and audio production classes. Guests in 2015-16 featured mastering guru Bob Katz, A-list German recording session guitarist Christoph Hessler, and compression expert Ted Fletcher. This year top mixer George Massenburg presented a lecture.

We have also had lectures last spring from MMP alumnus and Walk the Moon bassist Kevin Ray, Starin's Neal Weber and Rachel Enneking from the record label Joyful Noise. Kevin Ray returned in the fall to team teach a class in surviving the music industry.

Dan Porter brought the Audio Engineering Central Indiana Audio Student Workshop to Sursa Hall. The keynote speaker was Edward Nixon, a multiple Grammy nominee, mix engineer, producer, motivational speaker and chief engineer of the acclaimed Grammy Award winning collective The J.U.S.T.I.C.E League. Nixon has worked with superstars such as Sir. Paul McCartney, Nas, Anthony Hamilton, Estelle, Drake, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Future and Hudson Mohawke.
